Hmmmmm...let's see. It's been over 30 years, but I seem to recall an album cover with "beautiful, spiritual" Africans with noble looking faces, and hideously deformed white people with deformed wormy expressions and lard covered carcasses for bodies that looked like caterpillars.

Neither does Simon Weil:
"If you look at the cover of Bitches Brew, one striking aspect is the interwined black and white hands. For Miles Davis, someone who had only a few years earlier objected to the presence of a white woman on the cover of one of his records, this image of racial harmony is telling."

I find it quite illuminating that efforts to promote racial harmony and equality are deemed racist by several frequent posters here. Not only does it reveal astounding prejudice, but ignorance produces disinformation in support of these absurd views. Get your facts straight.

Doesn't look racist to me.

Stuff and nonsense....you showed one side of the album cover, now look at interior. And what is with that lizard eyed, alien looking, pock marked faced white person opposite the noble looking black one?
That review you listed was a lot of baloney, Miles would have had a fit over it.

what's your opinion on Chet Baker, General? 😵
'She was too good to me' is beauty in a nutshell...
They sure could make a hell of a Hollywood movie about him.
Originally posted by badmoonChet Baker is one of my all-time favorites. There is a hell of a good documentary movie about him. "Let's Get Lost" made by Bruce Weber. I have it on VHS. If you can find a copy, take a look. Hard hitting documentary. Compelling look at the ravages of time on a human being.

I may be prejudiced on this but I really like Dave Brubeck, he is still out there playing and writing. I took piano from his brother Howard who wrote a lot of stuff for Dave and was in love with Howards daughter Ginger, she was lithe and lovely and we took a gym class
together at Palomar College in San Marcos, ca.
The whole school was electified when Take 5 and Blue Rondo Ala Turk started getting a lot of airplay. He really was into odd time signatures.

Thanks for reminding me of Bitches Brew. I bought the CD yesterday. Excellent. Better than I remembered. Great album art, too.
