I'm genuinely flummoxed. There seems little doubt that Hispanics won the election for Trump.

I understand the conventional wisdom and obviously Trump won the election on the issues of inflation and the border. But I'm wondering if anyone had any insight as to how he targeted Hispanics so well.

Early last night, when they were reporting heavy Puerto Rican turrnout in PA, MSNBC was crowing that the garbage line at the MSG gathering would cost Trump the election.

Intead, heavy PR turnout might have been a bullish sign for Trump.

I'm genuininely curious as to why this happened.

My best guess is that upper and middle class Hispanics are often fascists and prefer dominant macho men as leaders.

Lower class Chicano American criminals (as well as their white allies) are rivals with immigrant Hispanics as well.

Do Mexicans and Guatamalans, etc., who are here legally resent the Mexicans and Guatamalans who are here illegally or do they look at them as fellow countrymen who should be allowed in? I've always wondered about that.

I don't really know. In California they live in different places and do different things. The mestizo Americans are urban. the immigrant mestizos are rural.

Why wouldn’t American Hispanic citizens be concerned with mass illegal migration?

Hispanics are generally religious, family oriented, patriarchal, conservative, traditional and hardworking.

Most of them dont fancy this liberal LGBTQ++ lifestyle.

Hillary got 63% of the male Latino vote in 2016; Harris only got 44% this year.

I agree with spruce, Machismo.

Donald Trump was battered endlessly for years and yet he never folded. If the US goes to war,
Donald Trump is the man you want being the Commander in Chief of the military,

Sounds like they actively dislike Harris then. Maybe racist.

Yeah. There was also a drop-off in Latino support for the Dems in 2016. Biden got those voters back. And then...

There's a pattern.

Not true; HRC in 2016 and Biden in 2020 had about the same percentage of the Latino vote.
