NO, and the Live 8 organizers are total morons if they think their stupid little concert is gonna have any affect on anything...

How's Bangladesh doing 35 years after the "Concert for Bangladesh", in which George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, and a host of others had their concert? Yeah, that worked out well...

No way. As Bono pointed out, Live Aid raised something like 200 million back in the day. That is roughly the equivalent of what developing African nations paid first world nations monthly in interest on loans.

Africa is lost,we'll never come right.

We suffer from a Culture of Corruption and a general lack of intelligence.(Well that's my opinion)

It won't solve the problem. There's only one solution that'll do that.
What it will do is raise awareness of the problem, and generate discussion on what should be done.
And that's a good thing.

What?
Africa suffers from a lack of intelligence?
Like - Africans are less intelligent than the rest of the planet?
Seriously?

I thought South Africa had left that sort of nonsense behind.
Sad.

That wasn't meant to be a racist jab or anything related to a pro-apartheid statement man.

Just my personal opinion based on my worldview.

I believe that the average African is grows up in a culture ignorance and poverty and an environment where education is a privelage. As a result of these surroundings I personally believe that, in general, Africans are not as intelligent as they could be or should be.

Hence a general lack of intelligence...

A lack of education isn't the same as a lack of intelligence.
I agree that Africa suffers from a lack of education, but that's a whole different issue.
Africans are no less intelligent than Europeans or anyone else.

Its a lack of education and access to information (never mind clean water). Not a lack of intelligence.

Big difference.

I believe that intelligence is nurtured. It's a deeper perception of life. With a lack of stimulation then intelligence will suffer.

So am I way off?
