I love that part. Trump knew it was fake. It's very well documented and confirmed with first hand knowledge by many Republicans in the room with him.

And yet there are millions of his followers who still believe the lie. Including, remarkably, the wife of a SCOTUS justice.
It just goes to show that lawyers don’t work for justice; they work for pay. Trump’s lawyers knew all along what they were doing and that it amounted to subverting the electoral process. They seemed to be more concerned that their client not perjure himself than that they were aiding and abetting an attempted coup d’etat.

Sure. Lawyers work for their clients. We shouldn't expect moral behavior from them.

But what about people, voters? A guy with a toupee and a Twitter account spouts something about fraud and they just believe the guy without evidence, and despite many many lines of evidence ( including a confession by the original spreader of the rumors) suggesting the information is wrong?

What's wrong with us?

There are real risks that hackers could tunnel into voting equipment and other election infrastructure to try to undermine Tuesday’s vote.

Roger Stone reveals how Trump tried to steal the election:

https://edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2022/09/27/roger-stone-documentary-filmmakers-stop-the-steal-january-6-plans-dlt-vpx.cnn

Note that this was filmed in July 2020, well before the Nov 2d election.

Let us consider Stone's 'justifications' for overturning the election result:

1. "Other countries do it." ...[text shortened]... e it seem that the other side was stealing it. Yes, there was indeed election fraud -- Trump was it.
Stop spreading misinformation!
