@averagejoe1 saidWasn't Trump President in 2020 also?
On Larry Kudlow, yesterday Jan 31, he said it and flashed it on screen. I really am not into research, I'm too old , no time. You dont have to take it from me, call it patter.
But get this about how well the economy USED to be under Trump. I am just the reporter, and give me 2 stars for linking.
Income Increased by $6000, family of 4.. Jumped $4400 in 2019, af ...[text shortened]... pose decreasing poverty.

How'd the economy do then?
Here's a clue:
"Yet as he leaves after his one-term tenure, Trump has become the first president since Herbert Hoover during the Great Depression to depart office with fewer jobs in the country than when he entered."

@no1marauder - "there isn't a lot the President can do that will affect crime except maybe decrease poverty "
----------------------------------
Very clever. Poverty is not the automatic crime igniter that some think that it is. Some (libs) like to
claim this in order to gain more leverage for Robin Hood style government.
However, with casual observation, one can easily see a myriad of countries in the world
whose people are far more impoverished while, at the same time, have far fewer crimes.
@earl-of-trumps saidThis study found a positive link between poverty and crime: https://www.emerald.com/insight/content/doi/10.1108/IJSE-04-2017-0167/full/html

As does this one: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-80897-8 which states: " Making the distribution of resources more equal or increasing social mobility is generally effective in producing a high cooperation, high trust equilibrium; increasing punishment severity is not."
Some research indicates that it is high inequality (which the US certainly has) which is most predictive of high crime levels: " analyses show that crime is not driven by poverty alone, but
rather by inequality. Countries with high overall levels of poverty do not necessarily have higher levels of crime. It is places with
high levels of income inequality that typically have the highest levels of crime."

How much reduction in poverty would affect crime is unclear, however.
@no1marauder
IMO, it would be hard to reconcile the disparity in crime index rate between top US cities and bottom ones,
basing such disparity on relative wealth of citizens
Best:
91. Amarillo, TX, 22.73
92 Irvine, CA, 18.57
Worst:
1. Memphis, TN, 74.81
2 Baltimore, MD, 74.61

Anyway, how can Biden do what Trump would do? Call all the right people to solve this crime problem, maybe skip a weekend in Delaware or Camp David if it would save a few lives?
Maybe begin a program, a study to follow the law in prosecuting criminals, keep criminals away from us. Do something, Marauder? Maybe mention it in one of his mumbling soliloquys during a press conference?
Something? Neither you libs nor Biden ever mention Crime. Do you not find that curious? It is curious. There is a reason. What is the reason.

Biden is a human being.
@earl-of-trumps saidYou wanna mention some of those cities?
Rising crime is going to sink dem chances in '22 midterms, especially in cities that defunded police.
@averagejoe1 saidAsk Trump about Covid-19.
OK. Take personalities out of it,, if that is possible. A president should take the reins on what is happening to his country. Why do they never mention it when people are dying?
@averagejoe1 saidProbably doesn't make Neil Cavuto's show, so I'll let you know here...
Even AvJoe didnt notice. All current threads, even my own, are about fluff. You fellers know that Biden is all about virus and ruining school for our kids, but no action on crime. Are you steering us away? While Biden rolls the dice on crime? You never never mention crime, nor inflation.
Your pres needs to take charge. Do you think past presidents would sit by like this. You libs do not want threads on crime nor on inflation.
Man up.
- This crime wave started before Biden took over the reins.
- Biden opposes defunding the police.
- Biden has been pushing states and local authorities to authorize the use of unspent COVID relief funds to hire more police officers. In other words, states have a bunch of federal cash available to increase funding for their police and have chosen not to do so.
- Congress has the authority to increase funding even more. Bills have been written but are being blocked by Republicans who can't afford to give Joe Hidin' a win. They are literally begging further increases in crime because it'll tank Dems in the polls.
- Complete inaction in congress on policing issues (they just don't debate anything anymore) will force a series of executive orders addressing police reform, including changes in police practices that will kill less people.

Yeah, call all the right people and
GIVE THEM PARDONS WHEN THEY'RE DONE
