I got knocked off my bike.
I was overtaking a line of stationary traffic on my regular commute home and someone decided to do a u-turn (without indicating) right in front of me.
I landed on my head and right shoulder and although no bones were broken the accident snapped all the ligaments holding my collar bone in place.

This left me with a bit of a wiggly shoulder:
Me pulling my shoulder into place - http://rhp42.110mb.com/images/bendy1.jpg
then letting it roll forward - http://rhp42.110mb.com/images/bendy2.jpg
and then further forward - http://rhp42.110mb.com/images/bendy3.jpg
Nice and relaxed - http://rhp42.110mb.com/images/bendy4.jpg
I reckon if I'd have done the same to both shoulders I might have been able to squeeze through some cat flaps and made my living as a burglar.
Two operations, three infections and a whole heap of physiotherapy later I'm nearly recovered.
It was a lot easier getting the bike fixed.
Tomorrow, having finally got the thing fixed I'm back on the bike for the first time in nearly ten months. I'm going to cycle right past the spot where I got knocked off.
It's going to be an interesting day.

i'll admit to being able to go out a couple of months later (damaged diagpram) but i just didn't want to.
cudos to you for getting on it to early after your recovery.

I wish I'd broken a bone instead of ripped ligaments. Bones knit right back to good-as-new in just a few weeks - ligaments take months.
I had to wear a sling for twelve weeks - not able to put my arm above my head or behind my back because of a plate screwed to my collar bone restricting movement.
Muscle disappears fast - much quicker than you can gain it.

(except mine has peddles)
Weighs less than my arm apparently (surgeon reckoned my arm to be about 10 kilos).

Bones.

that and the damaged diaphragm was easily the 2 most painful experience i've had in my life. broken fingers, cut a piece of my finger off in work last week, pfft nothing compared to ligament damage.
must have been a tough 10 months to say the least. you said infections, how so?

it was actually a mountain bite that i had came off, it was in peru and the bike obviously wasn't mine plus in the was dry season. 2 factors i didn't respect, a lot less grip in the dry π
btw were where you? the other guys driving sounds like something from peru π΅

Instead of a nice neat line (as I had after the first op.) there was more of a sludgy hole. Looked like I'd been attacked with a grapefruit spoon - nice big puss filled hole about half the size of a ping-pong ball.
It was probably painful as hell - but the surgery had cut through the superficial skin nerves - so I couldn't feel anything.
A dose of antibiotics stopped the infection and I started to fill the wound back up again, then I got re-infected so more anti-biotics then another infection.
The operation was in October - I'm still not totally healed - about 3cm of the the 15cm opening is still not quite closed. Bit of a weepy scab.

I got hit by a doctor.
Who else could provide such surgical precision in both concussion and acromiaclavicular separation?
My solicitor is still in the process of showing her how to properly mess with people.
