Don't you think that's better?
There are a vast majority of the site users who don't come to this forum often, if atall. If one of them wishes to pose a question in thread form, isn't it refreshing that their thread will be visible on page one for more than a nano-second? That way they can get a decent amount of screen time, rather than it be hoGged by trolls like us.
It would also be nice if new people were given half a chance before they are jumped all over, by the dominate forum bullies, and they know who they are!

Some people (not pointning elbows), keep their threads in page 1 artificially for days or weeks on end. I'd rather see 30 different authors on page one for a week, than the same few hacks pretending they are the bees knees.

Most times when the forums fill so quick, there's usually a whole pile of bickering and vitriol included in the mix. So, in truth, this is what you all have been arguing for for ages...Less fighting, and a calmer, slower pace of forum.
Enjoy.

To keep an active forum you need the "Good Guys" the "Bad Guys", and the one person everyone likes to hate, and you need people actually participating in the forums.
Look at the names that use to participate back even say 3 months ago and now, then try 6 months ago and now, and you will see the point I am making.
The way I see it now, you have a small group of people who just dominate the GF, and drive off others who don't see things as they do, or have different ideas from them. That is the way I see it Huck!
