How long do you think Prince Phillip's been dead for? I imagine they just dust him off an prop him up for special occasions. Perhaps he's controlled by midget puppeteers?

THE Queen is the main attraction not the Prince, he is like a servant more or less. πŸ˜›

The Queen's pretty boring though. At least Phil sticks his foot in his gob from time to time so has some entertainment value. I suspect I'm not alone among Brits in considering them pretty poor value for their money however, whether dead, bald, dead-bald or otherwise.

She spoke very well at UN after her performance 50 years ago, and the yanks lapped it up.

The same happens in Holland. I think kings and queen's are something from the past really. They only cost money and do nothing useful but sit and wave in a snobby manner.

you have a royal family structure, we have ours from commonwealth days, the yanks don't but lap it up.

The Queen of England pays her way with tourism, all the yanks going over to see the toy soldiers and visit buck house. They now travel in normal flights.

Hmm, I'm not convinced. I suspect there may be a certain smug, woman stealing essence, endemic to all hat wearers.

Agreed on that, they ARE part of our culture, so it would be a shame to remove them. A costly tradition it is though (at least in holland).

It is for us as well as we pay the moment She and her family leave UK, also the GG who is her representative here. Anne was out here a month or so ago, had a bit of a break and a bit of charity. She works hard.

no, no, completely not, HRH Princess Anne has the statistics to prove she is hardest working royal in the world. he brother chas is not far behind you, and as he is same age of me I have begun to follow what he is doing, contributes millions to economy, pays for himself and his children are following on now that they broke the inbreeding line. They were all really from the same gene lines which go back to Victoria and the Czars.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't put 'em up against the wall Russian-style, but I would clip their pay-packets a bit. Eight million quid a year seems a lot to give to somebody who's already got, what, I dunno - the Queen's worth about £300m on her own, and I expect the rest of 'em have a few quid here and there.
