I suspect that the reason Russ shut down the chat rooms at UChess is that there was no accountability. Russ had no real re-dress for any transgressions, as banned players would simply create another account. It can be much more closley monitored at RHP with the penalty of a main site banning for continued inappropriateness.

A subs only room could also be self moderated with the usual alerts as is the case on the main site.

So Russ, how 'bout it? Perhaps a trial period?

I think there at a lot of potential uChess customers here at RHP but at the moment I don't see anything worth paying an extra subscription for. If there was some sort of interface that enabled RHP users to arrange live games there and private rooms (Open Invites / Banded) for RHP subscribers then I think most people would be prepared to pay a bit more to use that.
