They're also slower except over distances for which you shouldn't be taking the car anyway. Half a mile to the shop? The exercise is good for you. And if you think you can drive a horse all day long, you've read too many yellowback westerns or fantasy novels. So no vacation to the South of France for you and your steed, unless you plan to take a week getting there.
