Do you know that guy who wears the John Deere hat and a red flannel shirt? He owes me 10 bucks.
P-
seek recovery or register a public complaint as the juice of an internet forum thread? Most men would simply regard it as a charitable gift.

If it's heights in general then I believe it's called acrophobia. If it's specific to bridges then we'll likely need Nordlys' input.
When on bridges I am afraid they will collapse or I will fall through the slats and dividers (same thing with fire escapes).
Heights inspire fear of falling, knocked off by wind or other people falling.
EDIT: When I was a kid I used to worry our car would careen out of control and drive off bridges and cliffs.

I have a bridge phobia. I don't know what that's called in sigh-ance. Cue Nordlys.
Edit: Okay, I made that up (it does make sense, because "zeugma" does mean "bridge" among other things). Apparently it's officially called gephyrophobia. http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=12355
