Sonhouse is alive and kicking, just finished two paid gigs, looking for more in this dreary economy. That would be interesting, an amp getting a virus, maybe mold, but virus? I just upgraded sonar to X1, the version after 8.5, had a problem with monitor.
Lost the wall wart plug in, so ordered one online, 40 bucks and 4 days later I turn around in my comput ...[text shortened]...
That plus my wife just having sinus surgery, bleeding for a week now, it's been a sucky week.

I tried to do pete seeger style, clawhammer but have a hard time getting the hang of that one. I don't like to use fingerpicks or bluegrass style, strictly old timey for me.
I'm not in a band or make a living off of it; but i do enjoy picking on my 5 string at the end of the workday.

Originally posted by sonhouseI do the picking/scruggs style. At first I didn't like the fingerpicks, but now I really like em. I mainly self-studied learning the "melodic style" from Tony Trischka's books when I got started. Now I just play backup to my favorite songs and make up my own stuff/jam out -- none of which is really bluegrass. The wifey just got me the Old and in the way songbook for xmas which I'll be digging into next month.
