Is this like other fantasy leagues I've heard about where you draft your team and get assinged points for how your players performed during the actual baseball season for that week? So you only have access to current players? There aren't any actual games, but rather just an accumulation of points based on players' performance?
Originally posted by rwingettMore or less, yes. There are no simulated seasons or games, if that's what you mean.

The Yahoo leagues work differently than an accumulation of points though, it's done on a 'rotisserie' basis. Did you check out the link I provided?
Originally posted by RBHILLNo. I prefer to just do autopick rather than a live draft which takes forever. With autopick, you just set your list and when draft day comes, your team is picked for you.
I did my name is of course RBHILL but I have not pick players yet, it takes along time to make a team right?
You should forget that other league and join the one I just created!
Okay, I just whipped the league up:
1) Go to fantasysports.yahoo.com and click on 'sign up now'
2) Click on the 'sign up now' link which is under the 'Free Fantasy Baseball' heading
3) Click 'sign up now' yet again
4) Sign in with your Yahoo ID
5) Choose to 'Join existing custom or public league'
6) Choose to 'Join a custom league'
The league ID is 88085
The password is dodgersucks
Once you're in the league, all you have to do (or don't do, it really doesn't matter) is manipulate your player rankings list for draft day (which will be near the middle of April). The rankings list is what order your players will be chosen in the draft.
Any questions? No? Good!
Sign up, you mouthbreathers!

I keep getting this message...
There was a problem:
• This league is not registered in this game. (Error #272)
• This league is from the free game. (Error #271)
Originally posted by darvlayYes, I went to the link but I didn't see anything that described the game mechanics. I'm not so much interested in this type of league. The one I was talking about at whatifsports.com there are actual games with accumulated stats as the season goes on. Your team has a box score for every game. You've got access to players from the entire history of baseball. I don't think it would be too difficult to find 24 people willing to put up $12.99 for this. Plus it only goes for 54 days, instead of 6 months.

Originally posted by rwingettWell, you have at least another month or so if you change your mind. I will check out whatifsports.com tonight and let you know if I'm interested in participating. Would we all be in one league or would I be playing against complete strangers who I couldn't gloat to afterwards?

Originally posted by darvlayWe could set up a private league. Whoever wants to could sign up. If we don't have 24 people after a week it goes public and their normal clientele would fill up the remaining spots. So if we had 24 people we could make an entirely RHP league.

Great, now I feel bad for posting all this Yahoo stuff. I didn't realize you were trying to get people together to fill a league. Sorry, Rob.
Originally posted by darvlayI was just throwing the idea out there to see if anyone was interested. There's no reason we couldn't do both. They're very different game mechanics, so they might attract a different crowd. Plus the fact that you have to pay to join the one I'm talking about would weed out most of the curious passersby anyway.
