Do you even read the dialog box content?

If you did, you would be humiliated to claim an impulsive timeout.
What comes up in your dialogue box?

I get the message

Your opponent, with a much higher rating has decided to be silly and not move within the agreed timescale. Please ensure you punish this folly by impulsively clicking on the claim timeout win button.

😛

Really? When I clicked on the skull to claim a win, I got this:

Your opponent will think you are gay. Do you really want your opponent to think that?

And I'm like, "No way, I's aint no queer." So I don't claim timeouts.

😛

Edit: I forgot a word.

Wouldn't this be better posted in Site Ideas?

Quit crying. I'd timeout an orphan, blind, on crutches, with leporacy, and starving to death. This is a game for mean people. Quit thinking like Tinker Bell.

So let me summarise, and add an overlooked point of my own (number 4).

1) You agreed to some specific time controls
2) You didn't adhere to those time controls
3) Your opponent therefore claimed a timeout, which is within the site rules, and part of the rules of all competitive chess
4) At the point the timeout was claimed, your opponent had a clear material and positional advantage. In short, they were winning

The jury of moral justice is unlikely to find in your favour.

The one thing in xyr favour is the message coming up when you click a skull: "Please only claim victory if your opponent refuses to move. Do you still want to claim the win?" I think it's giving the wrong message. (Heading over to Site Ideas.)

If it's someone with whom I play regularly, I generally let a timeout slide.

If it's someone I've never played before... that bad boy is getting clicked and I'm winning.
