abraisive and hostile and terminally malignant world.

So long, brief friend. Best wishes to you and your family.

As already mentioned to you, Iron, when personal portrayls conflict

and the game becomes less than relaxed... it's no longer enjoyable.

Least not at my tender age. And, yes, I'm still growing and maturing.

i'm not even going to pretend to understand that.

well, i tried to throw a bone to a 'lonely retired widower' when he was called a moron in the forums and retired hurt. i encouraged him not to be put off by that, and he responded. but that doesn't mean i'm not going to disgree publicly with some things he posts in the forums. i did that before the 'moron' incident, and i continued to do it after. i can't see how that makes playing a game of chess less relaxed, especially when nothing at all disagreeable was said over the board, but if he can't play chess and disagree over poetry at the same time, i'm not going to lose sleep.

I think Gramps is a great guy. Maybe he needs to realize he can relax, he's among friends.

Iron, perhaps the time will come when you, too, will be able
to realize that chess is as much about the person sitting
across from you, at a point in time, as the inanimate
pieces moving around the board. Psychology plays a role.

P.S. By the way, a win last week against a 1500+ opponent
ballooned my rating by a whopping 58 points. Russ replied
to my bug report/help message. Games won and in progress
have been corrected. His staff is still looking into the rating
spike error. So you may have temporarily received a few
more windfall rating points than deserved. Anyway, save
some. Invest some. Try to spend what's left wisely. Okay...

hey, you're the one who resigned, grampy. if anyone psyched anyone, i psyched you. but i wasn't even trying to, so there you go.

it's good that we're getting to see the 'real' grampy at last. not quite so insufferably positive at least - just patronising and pretentious.

If you step on a person's head and stand up
nice and straight with good posture, it's possible
to believe you're actually a few inches taller.

Suppose the fact that a guy's getting pent up
stuff out of his system is in itself a good thing.

ah, more good ole homespun bs from the golden fingers of bobby. that made me laugh almost as hard as your one about milking many cows to make your own butter.

you're good for a chuckle mate, i'll give you that. keep 'em coming.

EDIT: and honestly, i can see why you're lonely - i imagine people just don't like being around you. even at a distance of several thousand kilometres, you're hard to take. lighten up a bit, grampster.

This is all very melodramatic. AKA General Forum.

Even I've had arguments in here with people and let it go over more serious things. For some reason, poetry sparks fighting in here sometimes.

Relax! Or do what I do, simply don't respond. Think it over, chill out.
