Obviously, this is fairly common knowledge. Analogously, the same could be said for people who think they can elevate themselves by attempting to bully their own pharisaic moral construct onto others by tsk-tsking or wagging their fingers in a condescending manner.

No, not by a long shot. The news media in America has been slowly de-fanged over the last few decades. There was a time when people in the wrong feared newspapers like the Washington Post and news shows like 60 Minutes.

People like the person who wrote that letter need to be outed at every opportunity.
