I just feel really happy for all the idiots that were burning their Gerrard shirts last night. It's not like he hasn't changed his mind before. Once a Red, always a Red. Apart from all the Reds that have left in the past, obviously.

Knowing from previous experience how passionate and emotional their fans are, they concocted the story so the supporters would burn or otherwise deface their shirts.
Then, "Lo and behold!", Gerrard's staying, so all those fans will rush out and buy new shirts.
