I think the trick with the spinners is to wait as long as possible before hitting it...that way you tend to pull it very square, and luckily there are no fielders at square leg
This game is crud.
Boring first 4-6 Overs, just hitting 6's and 4's then with the spinner you're lucky to hit a single 4. Tried hitting early, tried late. Wouldn't mind if it was purely a case of knowing how to play spin, but I've a suspicion the designer built it so you would lose towards the end..

Still trying to win a tournament,it is becoming an obsession. I am playing with Sri Lanka since i cant hit a thing bowled by Chandana.
Took Australia to the last over - needed something like 21 - made 18!!
Closest I got to winning the final.
Haven't been playing much, because the game started to irritate me...
Heh, I used to play this game a lot when the ICC Champions Trophy was on. The groups were laid out as per the ICCCT. Furthest I got was to the semi-finals - lost as England playing Aus (like THAT would happen...).
I had similar problems with spinners. My openers would regularly get 50+ off the fast bowlers, then I'd collapse against the spinners. I don't think I ever got a score above 20 with Flintoff because he always came into bat when the spinners were on.
Haven't played it in a while, may take another look.
I WON the tournament π π
Playing as Australia
Defeated England in the Semi, scoring 183
Defeated New Zealand in the Final, scoring 194 (on the last ball)
Both were modest totals.....With the current groupings most of the time I play Pakistan in the Semi. I am still yet to beat them, their leg spin bowler drives me nuts.
There seems to be a random function that determines who you play after the pool matches.

Congrats! Yeah, took me ages too. I found the game actually slowed down and got jerky towards the end. Dunno if it was a memory leak, but very difficult to play.
Sri Lanka had some difficult to hit spinners though, but won with SA.
