Laughable, but the article says they got a "stern slap on the wrist", which is unbelievable.
Here is an update. Apparently, the film does not show footage from the torture video.

In light of this update, I request that this entire thread be deleted. My main issue was that the film depicted scenes from the video.
Thank you.

Here is an update. Apparently, the film does not show footage from the torture video.so basically you knew nothing about the movie and I knew nothing about the movie... seems we're both qualified to write a full length review for the Toronto Star. 😉
I don't think the thread should be deleted as it highlights the power of media (tabloid?) to incite hysteria and strong emotions among the masses through non-factual, non-researched editorial.
I guess Rondi Adamson should learn something from this as well...don't judge a book by the cover. Did she end up hating the movie, The Passion of the Christ, because she was expecting a porn flick?

adamson made her points quite well regarding the torture of the cat and people who made it an art form.
the move to boycott the movie was a good one. the flood of complaints was a good thing.
it may have forced that 2nd more explanatory article.
the organizers should perhaps have made things much clearer so that adamson didn't feel compelled to write the first article.
i agree with you in that media shouldn't be used to inspire hysterics, but when one is dealing with topics like these, it is up to the organizers to make things as clear as possible. otherwise, they can expect a justifiable torrent of protest.
what's in the book isn't going to prove to be that important, if people can't get passed the cover to begin with.
