I'm surprised that a person so good at playing CD's would have a hard time with chess.

When your opponents King moves more than one space you are allowed to either climb up the ladder on the adjacent square or play your get out of jail free card, whichever seems best.

Er, there is only one game with Markwat, and he never moved his king the whole game. Do you actually know how the pieces move? Maybe you should read a beginners book, which you can even find online.
