If marijuana were legal these deaths wouldn't be happening. More victims of the "drug war".

Dallas-area treatment centers have noted that the drug's growing use has led to a lowering in the age of teens admitted to their programs. From a typical clientele of 15- to 17-year-olds admitted under court order, one Dallas-area center observed a shift to 11, 12, and 13-year-old children admitted voluntarily or at a parent's request.[12] Michelle Hemm, the clinical director of the Phoenix Academy of Dallas, a drug treatment facility for teenagers, stated that individuals as young as 11 have been admitted as heroin addicts in the clinic.[13]

There is no proof for that.

But in fact it would be worth a discussion why certain drugs are free (alcohol...) and some are not.

I personnally don't think that unfettering Marijuana would curb the other drugs. If it would be like that people could just get drunk.

The drug situation and the mafia growth is 100% the fault of the US government. The really stupid idea of prohibition was a godsend to the mafia and other gangs, made them billions. Then when Anslinger (may he rot in hell if there is such a thing, there needs to be a special one for this fascist racist nazi ashole) convinced the government of the dangers of grass, that kick started the whole drug culture and the ensuing drug lords in south america. It's way too late to do anything about it now but it is 100% our own fault. We made our bed now we have to sleep in it.
