I've heard it pronounced loads of different ways too, but I'm fairly convinced "preez" is official.

Ah, you're welcome. I just can't help helping.

Still can't make one up of my own, though. What, exactly, rhymes with 'en prise'?!

..... cerise !!

Aha!

There was a chessplayer from Kuwait
Who had the black queen in a state
On a wing and a prayer
She retreated a square
Leading to a nice three move checkmate
There once was a player so slow
He moved every three days, although
He found plenty of time
To post rhyme after rhyme
But his moves he chose to forego.

Very good. Brought a smile to my face. Just for that, I'll move you straight to the front of the queue for today's moves.

Now I'll have to think of an equally amusing response limerick:

It is true cjrkenobi
Tries to move just as fast as can be
It's not easy, he claims
When he looks at his games
And he finds there are seventy-three

Lemme Try...

There once was a guy name Russ
whose website is a must...

nah, doesn't work. How about...

They call it the 4 move checkmate
but don't ever use it on a date
or you might not get some
and go home beating a drum
and wonder what ever went wrong.

Why not try making some limericks up about well-known posters too?

For example:

A brainy logician called bbarr
Sought unsound cognitions to debar.
With argumentation
He'd take on a nation
Of intellects sadly below par.

The princess of our RHP
I wonder now: who could it be?
So cute and delicious
(although meretricious!)
It's elvendreamgirl, don't you see?

A poet called pawnokeyhole
Wrote limericks terribly droll
And if the last line
Would refuse to rhyme
He'd use a French word like "parole"

Note that I will accept cash bribes NOT to write limericks about you...
