I think this is a great idea, and I just remembered a similar idea i had a while back...when creating a new game, why not have the ability to start from a number of standard positions where the first move or moves are forced? eg 1.e4c5 for Sicilian fans, or 1.c4c5 for those who want to play the symmetrical English? Even 1.e4c5 2.Nf3d6 3.d4cxd4 4.Nxd4Nf6 5.Nc3a6 for Najdorf specialists? I know there's a facility to play from a set up position, but this is a different concept in that only a number of standard opening positions would be available, and the games would be rated...
