@ghost-of-a-duke saidDon't give me stats that help your statement, I want world wide stats!
In the US there have been 439 Covid deaths recorded between ages 15-24, and 67,305 Covid deaths between 75–84.
Tell me again age doesn't matter. Of course 'all lives matter.' Who has said otherwise? That doesn't change the fact that age is a significant factor in mortality.
Why do you think that is happening because they are all clustered in senior complexes where the virus spreads through them goad, don't you understand?
You remind me of Trump, picking stats that favor what you happen to be saying at the time.
Again ALL LIVES MATTER!!!!

@very-rusty saidYou don't think, globally, that the virus has caused more deaths in the elderly?

Again, who has said all lives don't matter? I have stated clearly that 'anyone' can catch the virus and die as a result. For you to disqualify age as a significant factor in mortality however merely highlights you know pretty much nothing about anything.
Why is the vaccine being rolled out according to age if age doesn't matter?
@ghost-of-a-duke saidThe elderly are in senior complexes as a rule and it goes right through there because of being over crowded as I've said. That is why they are doing the elderly first goad.

If Trump had moved quicker on the virus instead of passing it off as just a flue that would be gone in a few months we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now. He is a big part of the blame for the virus spreading in the U.S. rather people want to hear it or not. He even got it himself because he wasn't wearing a mask. Just plain disregard for life.
Nurses and Doctors looking after patients should be the first ones given the vaccine which is what I believe will end up being done. No matter what their age!

@very-rusty saidI'll try spoon-feeding you. When it comes to Covid, the elderly are more vulnerable and less likely to recover. This is evidenced in any stats you care to pull up.

Of course age matters. Nobody should be complacent and nobody should think themselves beyond risk, but we need to be most mindful of the elderly and those with underlying health conditions as they are 'far more likely' than younger people to die from the virus.
If you truly believe 'all lives matter' then you need to recognize that the virus doesn't treat all people equally and that the elderly are especially susceptible and need greater protection/shielding.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidgoad if you don't protect the Doctors and Nurses first then there is no one left to protect. Get it?

Don't even try to pretend to be teaching me anything about Covid-19, I probably know as much or more than you do about it!

No joke.
(And of course we need to protect doctors and nurses. Who has said otherwise? )
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou never mentioned about giving the Doctors and Nurses the vaccine first, the elderly were first on your list of importance. Who is going to give it to them if there are no Doctors and Nurses to give it to them.

The elderly would come next of course but you have to give it to the Nurses and Doctors first. Nothing is going to change that FACT!
No joke, you are the one being ignorant or just trying to win an argument you've already lost!

@very-rusty saidOf course front-line staff need to be vaccinated. Why does that even need to be discussed? It's a no brainer. That has nothing to do with the elderly being more vulnerable to Covid than younger people.

Look at you trying to dodge your earlier assertion that age doesn't matter. Ouch!
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI said age didn't matter when it came to getting the virus! You started the conversation saying age mattered. Just to start a bantering session.

I am not dodging anything and still stand by my statement age doesn't matter when it comes to the virus anyone can get it!
Stay Safe goad, you aren't immune to it because of your age!

@very-rusty saidNot true! Studies indicate that people aged 30 to 79 are more susceptible to being infected than those younger or older. Ask your doctor.
I said age didn't matter when it came to getting the virus!
@handyandy saidDepends what part of the world you live in Andy, ask your Doctor! 😉

Here it happens to be the 18 - 38 people getting infected.
Stay safe my old friend. Let's hope your New President will handle things much better!
Seriously we know everyone can get the virus you don't have to be any set age. A man or woman at 20 is as likely to get it as you or I would.
I must say we have been more fortunate here in the Maritime Provinces than most parts of the world have been.

Arguing with rusty is like deciding which half of the pantomime horse you're going to make redundant.

Can we store it en mass? For everyone... The frontline has to be first, otherwise I'm buying a better Tent & Fishing rod [edit] plus tinned food.

@hells-caretaker saidJust stay in the woods and you'll be fine if you know how to survive in the woods that is....Perhaps start by building a log cabin! 😉
