Good for you, man. I played corr chess - known then as Postal Chess, back in the 70's. The Children being birthed ended it.

USCF ran what they called Golden Knights Correspondence Chess.

It's funny to see so many players here talking about the Golden Knights Correspondence Chess back in the day. I always checked the mail right after school and getting that little postcard from some far away place was such a thrill. Boise Idaho, Topeka Kansas, Albuquerque New Mexico, it all seemed so foreign and exotic. We never traveled out of our kind of run down Chicagoland neighborhood back then.
