I don't believe there is.
I've got bad periods and good periods. During the good periods marijuana doesn't influence the sleep at all. Alcohol does. That always makes me sleep crap.
When I've got a bad period, marijuana seems to help me go to sleep, but it doesn't keep me asleep. I'll still wake up after an hour or two. Alcohol is really nasty ...[text shortened]... (anybody who's drunk doesn't sleep well, seemingly) has something to do with it as well.
Alcohol and sleeping tablets (medication) are, in my view, the worst possible alternative treatment(?) for insomnia, unless its a seriously short-term fix, as they restrict the body from entering into deep sleep which is when the important recharging/destress takes place, so even when they work its not REAL deep sleep.Try working a sweat up every day, even if its only half an hour a day. Try to eat more friut and veg but don't eat anything after 8pm if ya can, also try not to eat processed food, especially sugar loaded junk food. Don't smoke ganja two hours before bed, don't watch tv, surf the net, read or anything requiring too much concentration as the aim is to wind down before bed which a hot bath can help, if you always sleep with a partner try sleeping alone, if all else fails turn nocturnal!

I haven't slept for 5 days, I'm just lying there...lying there...laying there...whatever...
In 6 days time I'm off to the neurological department of a hospital in the Hague. It's a sleep-clinic and they're gonna figure out what's wrong. I have to keep a sleep-diary and I'm not allowed to look at the clock.
What on earth am I supposed to look ...[text shortened]... here it's warm) to wait for an oppertune moment to have breakfast and go to work.
Party on.
Now that Bush has (in all probability) been re-elected, I am sure Shavixmir, and the rest of the world, can all sleep more peacefully...
Seriously, Shavixmir, one of the most important things in aiding a good night's sleep is adherence to a rigid schedule: Get up at the same time no matter how you feel, and go to bed at the same time no matter how you feel. Also, try and divorce your sleep from everything else: Use your bed and bedroom just for sleeping and for nothing else (innuendo deleted). Also note that, after a while, sleeping tablets only impair the quality of your sleep.
On the other hand, if you do sleep better, we may see fewer of your interesting posts!
Bests,
Aiden
