lol! £11 (inc. p&p) from Amazon, guarenteed to arrive first post tomorrow, so the £6 I lose, I gain in not having to leave my house. 😛

Although I literally just realised that the Sainsbury's about 2 minutes walk from me is selling it for something like a fiver anyway. Ah well. Now I'm just incredibly nervous that someone spills the beans to me before I get to read it myself... i.e. my sister who is queuing up outside a bookstore as we speak.

Well, it's 1:30 in the morning here and we just got back from the bookshop. We were first in the queue - a little error over times because we're one hour ahead of GMT. It will be a week or so before I get to it when the kids are done.

You'll know the outcome before you read it then. The problem with the media hype around these things now is that you're forced to stay up all night reading the damn thing if you want the full effect of the story, otherwise it's spoiled within 24hrs due to reporting on the reaction from those that did stay up and read it.

Sad really, glad I'm just staying up all night for the sake of it instead.

My sister just got back...I'm jealous and she's locked herself in the attic to read it.

Here's the spoiler

the book is 500 pages too long, just like the last three, all you have to do is read the last chapter in your local bookshop and wait for the film to come out in a year or two, save yourself £17.99 and 20-60ish hours of your life depending on reading speed

It's 600 pages long, just like the last three. I don't understand why anyone would skip to the end of the book, or post spoilers all over the internet, just to ruin people's fun. You're an ass.

Just sad. The point of reading is not to find out whodunit (or whogetsit) but the journey.

That said, the last book read more like a movie script than a novel. I guess this one will too.

I too got that impression. The previous book reaaly seemed influenced a lot by the movies. And this one on certain parts too.

too friday and saturday off to reda the book and damn it's good. There are two chapters there that I really liked.
And besides that I really need to read the first three books again. I think that in a year from now I'll start reading the whole collection all over again.

Finished it, all 759 pages (US adult version).

Yes, it's good. No, I'm not telling how it ends, or who died, or who didn't, or who came back to life (if anyone did).

If you really want to know, go buy it and read it.

For those who want to know, it was for sale at one minute past midnight on Saturday here. That was about 16:01 BST on Friday. Yes, some shops were open, that's how I got it before anyone in the UK. Just out of interest, what time was it on sale in the US, or other countries?
