I was channel surfing last nightwhen I came across a telly show on VH1 about disco music and the late 70's-early 80's. One of the main ideas being put forth was that the 'Disco Sucks' movement amounted to being anti-gay and anti-fun. I have always hated disco music. I find it repetitive, silly, stupid and boring. Having said that, I don't hate pe ...[text shortened]... ing me and other disco haters as beiing biogoted against gays and disco lovers.

incidentally, techno - like most genres of music - is a broad church. it's not all nosebleed and ecstacy. may i be so bold as to suggest the following albums for your listening pleasure:
boards of canada - music has the right to children
aphex twin - ambient works volume 1
amorphous androgynous - music has the right to children
f.u.s.e. - dimension intrusion
two lone swordsmen - return to the flightpath estate/a bag of blue sparks ep
global communication - 76:14
infonet - reload, a collection of short stories
these are all good, imho. all intelligent, listenable, even tuneful.
bleep.
