The thing that annoys me with the Transformers ads is that they're definitely trying not to ruin the movie because they don't actually show the things transforming. I don't know if I want to waste the €27,000 it costs to go to a film these days when I don't know that I'm going to get to see some robots transform properly.
I hate it when that happens. which is often.
I'm guessing the Transformers flick will be the same way.

Interested to know everyones films that dissapointed them...
Perhaps the reason why this stinks so bad, is because of the wasted opportunities. Directed by Brian De Palma - the guy behind Carrie, The Untouchables and Mission Impossible (the first and best one), seemed so inept with controlling normally solid actors and getting them to turn in some of the most wooden performances since that film with killer trees.
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337332 - great tag line though)
Not only that, but I am amazed that a script so dire and clunky can ever get passed by the studios and get pickjed up by such a great director.
The worst thing about this, though, is the absolutely dreadful and embarrassing ending! 🙄
has to be 'sound of thunder' ... with its baboonnosaurus rex and angry goldfish. i expected so much more from the movie as i'm a big fan of good science fiction and the concept behind this movie sounded so good.
among the others - matrix 2-3, red planet, ultraviolet (big fan of milla, but this was a waste of time) and etc, etc.

See Infernal Affairs. The original japanese version. That is a great movie if I ever saw one. Much more complex and intricate.
I fell asleep first three times I tried to watch apocalypse now. but the redux was simply magical.
fell asleep during texas chainsaw massacre as well. what a bore.
highlander 2 was a huge disappointment for me too.

The Redux doesn't add anything significant to the original, in my opinion. I think that the extra scenes do too much harm for the film's tempo for what they bring. I'm definitely not jumping onto the redux bandwagon.
Originally posted by Palynkayea, I was surprised about it too. usually the director's cuts and other nonsense just make the films worse. I suppose I liked it more because the original was more of your average box office hit war film, where as in the redux the war seemed almost irrelevant. oh, and the slower tempo played a big part on detaching it from the war action. it's like a completely different world apart from the 'nam world, a place where people and things lose their connection to reality. in the original I (at least) stayed in the american-vietnam-trauma the whole time. which I find very boring.
Interesting.

the redux could've happened on the late 19th century congo river just as well. 🙂
