I'd like to suggest a nice walk in a snowstorm where you can't see your hand if you extend it, that will get you real focused in a hurry!

We don't really get snow as the Gulf Stream terminates in Liverpool Bay. Sounds like bad weather walking means serious bad weather walking for you?

the most intense walk I've ever taken was during a hail storm
it was beautiful
totally focused and exhilarating

There’s something very rewarding about walking in bad weather.
Great to return home, enjoy a big snack and take a guilt free doze in front of the TV.

I remember orienteering high up in the lake district as a kid when it started to hail and the wind blew it horizontal. I was running directly into the wind. I remember it was really exhilarating.

No extremes of weather at all. I think it's down to the warm current in the sea. An extreme winter is a fine covering of snow for a day. No hurricanes. A lot heavier rain storms this year which was attributed to climate change.

More or less the same latitude as New York but the ocean currents are from the Gulf of Mexico.
