@ghost-of-a-duke saidThe benefits of the drug should outweigh the risks. If it eases the suffering of society and you get less complaints you have achieved your goal.
Smoking has done you no harm....

@vivify saidI tried to smoke some ham for the first time in my life but can't seem to keep the damn thing lit.
Recently, I've been indulging in a Black & Mild mini cigar on nice days when it's warm. Any smokers here? If so, what?
I'm not a regular smoker and I don't get cravings, but I'll sometimes spark a cigarette when I buzzed off of a few drinks. Because I don't smoke, I get this "smoker's high" that feels seriously nice when combined with alcohol. People who have quit smoking and then picked up the habit after a long time know what I'm talking about it.
I have no idea how they do it.
@drewnogal saidSure, and it causes cancer and heart disease, which are the two biggest killers, and is expensive, and causes others to hate you due to second hand smoke, blah, blah, blah!!
It’s the filthiest habit and causes tooth loss.
But it's fun!

@drewnogal saidI kissed my first girl and smoked my first cigarette on the same day. I haven't had time for tobacco since.

@whodey saidI smoked from age 14 to 21. When I finally gave it up it I had behaviour problems during which I compulsively tore beer mats into tiny fragments and felt like my hands were naked.

I smoked from age 14 to 49 basically and stopped the first day of my vacation '93 because I had learned that it's easier to break the habit of smoking in connection with a change of behavior. It worked and I haven't smoked since.

@drewnogal saidIt really is a filthy habit. I quit in 2004, first thing I noticed is how people who smoked usually stunk like an ashtray. I thought to myself how did people ever put up with my smoking, then realized most of them were smokers too.

A habit I wish I had never started!!!

I “quit” many years ago after several attempts and a good read of Allen Carr’s (at the time for me) brilliant book.
Nowadays I can “quit” at will and instantly, so I enjoy the occasional smoke. Like I enjoy the occasional murder.
