It was Black Friday in America, and a wal-mart employee was trampled to death as an angry mob off shoppers broke the door down on top of him..........does anyone find this extreemly disturbing, other than myself?

America is rapidly becoming a nation of morons
When the quest for the almighty dollar (or saving the almighty dollar) determines our moral compass, life is cheapened and such an event can be seen as a minor inconvenience for some. The evidence lies in the fact that people actually walked over the potential rescuers as they workes to save his life.
What is even more disturbing is that the shoppers were ready to riot once management said the store was closing because of the man's death.
All so sad...on so many levels.

It's disturbing on a number of levels, not the least of which is the inevitablity that something like this was going to occur. For how many years has this frenzy been escalating? It's a frenzy that's been stoked on an annual basis by the stores, the consumers, our cultural gluttony, and the media that happily portrays it all.
So long as everyone got their X Box, I suppose the guy's life was a small price (you decide if the pun was intended) to pay.

Disturbing? Yes, very.
And this sort of idiocy is one more example of the self-indulgence, lack of self-discipline and insistence on immediate gratification that kills off common sense and decency. We're just going to consume, consume, consume until we choke on it.

about the deaths... well, I've had two family members die within few weeks, and it didn't make any sense. I doubt it ever does. people die, that's what happens to things that live. some die in car crash, many by cancer, some get shot, some stop breathing in cradle, and some get crushed in walmart. none of it makes any sense, it just happens. that's the way of the world, blind fumbling in the dark mixed with freak accidents.

Originally posted by uzlessOther employees trying to help him got trampled, too, but they survived. When the owner tried to close the store they went into an angry frenzy....shouting, etc. I guess they did manage to close for a few hours and get the injured to the hospital, including an eighth-month pregnant lady. Both she and the baby will survive, thankfully. This was at 5 a.m. ! Those lunatics must have waited outside all night for the doors to open.
