I gave Dr. Rational what he asked for.
Well, Andy, you push a hard bargain but okay. In fairness to our readers would you please furnish an example of your creative skills with an original/ungoogled enigma? Here are the three suggested enigma title options:
Waves Over Me; Two and Two; or Never and Always.
No time limit will be imposed; let her rip whenever your muse shows green lights. And, thank you. -Doc R.

Maybe if we break it down into parts it will be easier to solve.
1. Gain is to acquire, get, possess, etc.
2. Gain again means to do it twice, or more than once, because once isn't enough... so maybe it means something that needs to be gained on an ongoing basis in order for you to have that something.
Is the answer Breath? If you don't continue to breath (gain another breath) you will stop breathing, and then you won't be able to breath.
Gain me [a breath] again, or nil [none at all].
Does it mean gain (take) another breath, or none at all?
(referring to the act of breathing?)
