If Kante stays fit France will win it, how else did Leicester win the league and Chelsea the CL, not to mention France winning the last World Cup. Best player in the world and Lamps was an idiot not getting the best from him.

Kante has that way of appearing unnoticed in successful teams because you only spot the holding midfielder when they make a mistake. Similar can be said about Makelele and Viera in past club successes and successful French teams. Key players. (I think it also explains why our season was rescued when Klopp stopped using Fabinho as an emergency defender and returned him to midfield).

Any predictions for Scotland v Czech Republic? Don't know much about current Czech side. Scotland are on the up imo. Maybe 2.0 Scotland??

3 0-0 draws for Scotland and through to the last 16 Portugal style.

Croatia will beats the chezks so a draw will suit them both in the final game.

Is he really a “holding” midfielder in that mood of Makelele etc? I don’t think he is, I think he’s more of a marauder and playmaker, but not like Gazza was of course.

I couldn’t call the Scotland game, no idea tbh. 1-1 seems a safe bet but it might just come down to who wants it a bit more and takes their chances.

Fair point. He played that role for Leicester when they won the league. Started out the same at Chelsea, but then displaced to use Jorginho in that role which was thought controversial at the time, but now thriving in the role you describe. Don't honestly know how France have been using him.

Just the European nations. The South American nations are playing in Copa America. The other confederations have their tournaments at different times e.g. the African Cup of Nations.
