I think that Blazing Saddles was, by far, the best of the Mel Brooks movies that came out in the 70s... and a lot of gags in that movie still crack me up to this day... when I think about things from that movie that don't play as well today as they did back then (when I was a lot younger, of course), I'm thinking of the scene when every one eats beans around the camp fire and farts... ok, funny when I was 14, but not any more...
On the other hand, any scene with Harpo Marx cracks me up just as much now as it did when I first saw Duck Soup about 1971... those guys were incredible...Duck Soup is as good a comedy as has ever been made (yes, even better than "Tootsie", AFI's 'top 100' notwithstanding)... But the Marx Bros as a whole, when one takes into account the delivery, timing and the chemistry those guys had, it still stands up today, 75 years after these films were made... it remains to be seen if the same will be true of Mel Brook's films...
