How about Itailain non-pasta dishes? One of my favorites is cold cuts(bresaola) on a bed of arugula drizzled with extra-virgin and topped with buffalo mozzarela. Nice crusty bread to go with it and voila!

You mean "all'amatriciana"? "Pasta alla Meretriciana" sounds like Italian for "Prostitute-style Pasta" (kind of like puttanesca I guess...)

I believe you are right and I am wrong. I misspelled it and it is not a derivative of puttanesca. Veramente L'Italiano non e una lingua semplice!

No liver for me! I have never had it, but other Italian organ dishes are wonderful. I prefer tripe to liver.

So it's just a linguistic difference? Grazie.

Per niente! I am not fluent in Italian, but can hold my own in most circumstances. Very difficult language because of the grammar and vocabulary. Al the dialects are alive and well and throw me for a curve when visiting, especially Neapolitan/Campanian and Sicilian, Calabrian and Pugliese dialects.
