Ah,an opportunity for a shameless plug 😀
CivFanatics.com and the forums therein.A site dedictated to the Civilization series.Over 30,000 registered members now.If you play Civ,you must visit.
Many hours per week..too many actually 😉
I recently got CivII but now I want CivIII.
It's a really addictive game because you always want to carry on just one more round to finish something off, or see what happens, then that leads onto something else...grrr 🙂

hehehe..its called the "one more turn syndrome".One more turn usually becomes 4 more hours 😀
Civ3 was a dissapointment for me.But you really need to decide for yourself. It does introduce some good new ideas but I just felt it abandoned much of what made Civ2 an all time great.
I agree CivII is a classic, I was told CivIII is better but I guess I'll have to see 🙂
PS. Do you have anything to do with Civfanatics.com?
Civ3 has better graphics and what not but gameplay is king and civ2 rules here. With scenarios and multiplay you have a game with huge replayability.
Its kinda like this:
Veterans of the civ series were somewhat letdown by 3.Players new to the series love 3.It is a good game just not great IMO.It is getting better though with patches and a new x pack "Play The World".
Yes.I am a moderator there.
Well, thats great.I'm glad to hear it was an easy find.I also picked up a jewel case copy at Future Shop for a back up.I've also seen it as part of the Risk Gold bundle and a Civ3 bundle.Your chances of finding are greatly increased in North America
Now,what you got is probably Civ2 version 2.42.This is the single player only version. If you search google for "Cedric Greene" you will find a site that has updates which allow you to upgrade your 2.42 into Fantastic Worlds(added scenario support) or, better yet, upgrade to Multiplayer Gold Edition(includes all FW add ons and Multiplay)

joecartoon.com used to be pretty funny... but nothing's as funny as strong bad email on homestarrunner... Does anyone know of other sites like that - kinda off-centre comedy? I just love that stuff.
http://www.flemcomics.com/ and click 'recent' then start at the beginning.
Be warned, though, it's not for the easily offended e.g. they hunt Mormons in strip 22 🙂
