If we broaden this to include TV series too, I'd say that the closing scene between Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder in Justified (their last conversation), and the closing scene between Elizabeth and Philip Jennings in The Americans, were as good (clever, satisfying, worthy) as endings to long-running dramas could be and as pitch perfect as I can ever recall. As for films, I'd vote for GoodFellas...

"Today, everything is different. There's no action. I have to wait around like everyone else. Can't even get decent food. Right after I got here, I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce and I got egg noodles and ketchup. I'm an average nobody. I get to live the rest of my life like a schnook."
