I believe those rotate, if they are the same as our windshield wipers.

I am predominantly mineral, with a vegetable item included.
1. I am not a decorative item.
2. I am not edible.
3. I am very common in the developed world, but you'll find me everywhere.
4. I am not a cup of coffee.
5. I am almost always smaller than a microwave.
6. I am not brake pads or a brake pad.
7. I am a processed combination of naturally occurring minerals, normally attached to a processed vegetable material.
8. I am not paper.
9. I am waterproof.
10. I am not a pencil.
11. I spend most of my time outdoors, but I am not a recreational or sporting item.
12. I am not part of a house.
13. I am not a garden gnome.
14. I am not an umbrella.
15. I am a working device, with moving parts, but no wires.
16. I am not a lawnmower or barbeque of any kind.
17. My fixed part never rests on the ground. It is attached to a much bigger man-made object.
18. I am not a toy.
19. My single moving part does not rotate.
20. I would not call myself a tool. I perform a single function, but I receive electric power to do that, I am not directly operated by a person.
21. I am a windscreen wiper, also known as a windshield wiper. I do not rotate, I sweep from one side to the other and then back again.

Congratulations kevcvs57!

"Rotation" need not be a full circle. It is just something that turns about an axis or center.

The wiper which prompted my choice would have moved through no more than 1/4 of a rotation, and naturally can't go any further, so I don't think the word "rotate" is appropriate. You're entitled to a different view, of course. I'm quite used to people disagreeing with me. πŸ™‚

I would thought rotate imply's a 360 degree arc, even one centrally placed wiper only manages 180 degrees but I am no GeometricianπŸ™‚

Cheers Kewpie my strategy is to wait until the clever people have asked all the pertinent questions and then swoop down like a ill educated but hungry sparrowhawk.πŸ˜‰

For the most part, the motor part of a wiper system does indeed rotate 360 degrees, the wipers run by a bar linking system connected to an electric motor.

I know, I've had to fix a few over the years, once those links start popping out they keep popping out, good pertinent point though, as usual.πŸ™‚
