Usually I hate "smiley art", that's the first time I've ever been guilty of it. It seemed like a nice comment on CHEESE.

I've often wondered what this actually means. Care to translate for a foreigner?

In this instance you were meant to respond with the word 'CHEESE' as if I was taking your photograph.

Common usage is an Americanism which translates as 'please repeat your last sentence, because I cannot believe what I am hearing'. I'm guessing, because I am not American either.

P.S Is it still winner stays on?

{I figured my 12 cheesy smileys was enough cheesy comment, didn't you?}

Ah. We say "say that again" or "what?" but not "say what?"

I should set another puzzle but it's half past midnight and I'm off to bed. You're welcome to have another go if you want. 🙂

Yeah we just say "what?" or possible "You what?" if we are feeling verbose. 🙂

Will start a puzzle if nobody else has by 07:00hrs GMT on saturday.

If we're terribly polite, we say "pardon?" and occasionally "excuse me?" (although that's usually sarcastic).
