I think it's bogus that you've characterized me as a coward for holding to my convictions, for choosing where I draw a line in the sand and for stating that I take responsibility for the consequences of my actions. I don't take fighting lightly, I take it as a final step. It think your dismisal of it as something casually done or done over an offensive comment is a dangerous trivialization.

You keep upping the stakes from the original proposition. If the aggressor escalated his offensive remarks to physical violence and endangered my daughter he'd have made a very serious error. The consequences of the aggressors choice would be immediate and final. This would pain me very deeply and I would have done everything I could to avoid the confrontation.
