Oddly catchy. I think I liked the leek girl's version best...which could be due to the fact that I thought it was a video with an end.

Damn. Now that's going to be stuck in my head for ages...

that part is just scatting, but in the other parts it's about the daughter of the house, Eve, dancing sweaty, hot polka with the neighbour's young son, and her mother not liking it one bit. in the end, the boy threatens to beat 'the old hag'. I think it can all also be interpreted as the girl giving it to the boy, and I suspect that's the real message of the song, as the lyrics were written back in the 30's.

if that's not the real message, there's surprisingly lot of talk about sweat, being hot, wet, moaning and going back & forth all night long.
