SO GLAD YOU ASKED! 😀 I've had this little theory for the last few years and I've explained it numerous times:
A geek is anyone who has vast knowledge of one certain subject, such as a movie geek, a Star Trek geek, etc etc. (this applies to you chess club members!). Geeks will usually get very good grades in certain subjects and either barely skim by or just downright fail in others, out of lack of interest.
A nerd is anyone who has a fair knowledge in many subjects, without actually having one subject that they particularly excel in. They'll usually get A's and B's (if not just all A's), but usually are stumped when having to pick a major when going to a university, since they have the same amount of interest for everything they study.
A dork is sort of the wild card of the three, since dorks usually share many characteristics of a geek and a nerd. The one trait that makes a dork different is that a dork is usually MUCH more social than your average nerd or geek. They usually dress more creative and are much more open with who their are.
Now, where it gets tricky... A nerd can NOT date a geek, and a dork can NOT date another dork. I haven't seen either work yet. Usually a geek will go with a geek, a nerd will go with a nerd, or a dork will date one of the two, and those relationships are usually able to avoid the clash of characteristics.
I could go on a little longer, about how each type dresses and reacts to certain situations, but meh. Anyways though, I myself am a geek. 😀 Hiya.
