I never in any way wished for the death of George Best. I lamented the fact that he couldn't stop drinking.
Where in the thread do I mention that I want him to die?
😠

However, as for 'not knowing' him, as it goes I think we've got a pretty intimate idea of what the guy is all about, after him cashing in on numerous books and documentaries to fund his lifestyle.

Quite right. The fact that you are the recipient of a transplanted liver( for which you are humbly grateful) & are still on anti-alcohol medication, & are still unable to stop drinking, illustrates terribly the nature of the addiction. Grape & grain are a marvellous gift, but not to be welcomed so wholeheartedlly. A question........the family of the donor of the transplanted organ, are their views known?

He is being treated for an infection in his kidneys which was brought about due to the immuno-suppessants that he has to take so that his body doesn't reject his new liver. Every recipient of a transplant basically has no immunal system anymore, due to these immuno-suppressants.

The infection is not from the immuno depressants. The damage to his other organs was massive before his transplant. The body does not have no immune system after transplant- it is degenerated. He suffered no acute rejection in the first 6-8 weeks and 3 months into his transplant his functions and immune system had been normalised. His continuation to drink after a year continued to weaken his other organs. His kidney infection is secondary. His problem is resparatory. Alcohol destroys all organs, not just the liver. And have you asked yourself 'where were his family, his sisters, as living donors to donate half of their livers?' - they know him only too well!

It is still rather twisted starting a thread which is basically saying of a potentially terminally ill man, either to hurry up & die or get better.

"The cause of his liver infection was unclear, but his doctor said powerful drugs prescribed to prevent his body rejecting his donor liver had weakened his immune system, leaving him susceptible to infections.
Professor Roger Williams responsible for Best's care since his transplant, has said the infection that saw him admitted to hospital recently was not directly related to his problems with alcohol. But he would have been more susceptible to the illness because he had been on a course of medication to suppress the immune system and prevent his body rejecting a new liver. "

I didn't say I wish he would die.
Sure he is going to die, probably as a result of boozing. Even if it is a result of his infection, he would not have the enfection if he hadn't had a transplant which he wouldn't have had had he not been an alcoholic.
I said I wish he would hurry up about it.
Do you smoke or eat processed food or live in a city or use deodorant?
