@petewxyz saidWhat happens if you fix a buttered knobbly on the back of a cat? Which side does it land?!
They land the right way up though so more use than a buttered knobbly.

And thsi is all the better for the Lover of a buttered knobbly since it stays intact. However be aware that some cats like butter very much. I remember the cat of a frined of us who devised Methods to have butter lasn on the floor, so she could lap it up.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI suspect it never lands and that is the real reason why we see planes made of metal high in the skies suspended by cunningly placed cats and knobblies.

@petewxyz saidThis is the thing. Both are supported by rocket scientists and Estate Agents:

1. Toast always lands buttered side down
2. Cats always land on their feet
So, hypothetically, if a slice of buttered toast was fixed to the back of a falling cat it would never be able to land and the very fabric of the universe would start to unravel.
I believe Neilarini is writing about this very thing in his upcoming book about pickled eggs and quantum mechanics.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI shall look forward to this, I have had limited success in this area as a result of overvaluing relativity and poor vinegar selection.
