The feeling of being in charge, in control can also matter to these men, the traditionally manly behavior.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you unerved by women who pay their way or do you find this attractive? Maybe you insist on paying for everything but deep down inside you resent it and wish she'd offer sometimes but feel too embarrassed to mention it? What if she earns lots more than you yet still expects you to pay?

You mean like being stupid?
On the Topic: Going Dutch (both pay for themselves) is the new normal with Women routinely have their own income. That the man pays is a relict from times, when women did not earn their Money. Of course I will invite People to a meal now and then. But I normally clear this up with the Invitation.
When I am away with my wife there is no Problem, since we do have just one common account.
Originally posted by PonderableBoth of my parents had jobs, and they kept their income apart and shared expenses so that my mother could do what she wanted without having to ask my father for money. I believe my father took a greater part of the expenses, as he most likely earned more money than she did. Money was never an issue that I was aware of. They had a very untraditional view on money, maybe that's why I feel comfortable taking my share of costs.
