Going to a movie alone

I always go to movies by myself..just about every week. I go to matinees on mobdays so it is usually pretty empty.

I find that those who go at that time are more into films then most people. They aren't the usual slobs that munch popcorn and slurp soda. God I hate popcorn at movies. They should outlaw it. And turn your darn cellphones off.

Definitely not pathetic. I guess it's a good second choice if nobody feels like going to the movies and you do.

Pathetic would be staying at home out of fear of looking uncool.

I love going to the cinema alone (I go 3 or 4 times a week, I've got this abonnement thing).

But I should point out two things to you:
1. Why on earth are you worried if something is cool or not? Do you enjoy it? Yes. Then it's cool.

2. Why on earth would you want to go to the cinema with someone else who's just gonna sit their silently watching the film as well?

Same goes for restaurants. THERE IS NOTHING ROMANTIC ABOUT WATCHING SOMEONE EAT FOOD.

Timing is everything, hun. If you go to a matinee, it is cheaper and you don't have to worry so much about being alone. Now if you go at night with all the couples, not only does it feel bad because you don't have a date, but then you get the people looking at you wondering why you don't have a date.

My advice would be to go during the matinee. You also have a better chance of meeting someone else who went to the movie alone. 🙂

Point 2. Yeah, mostly
Point 2b. restaurants. Well, if its romantic, it probably not the food I'm watching or thinking about 😲

So are you the sort of person who would go to the movies and hope to pick somebody up?
Give me a call next time you decide to watch a film.

I actually do think it's cool. I was just wondering what other people thought. Some friends have told me they would never do it.

Yes, I do feel cool buying one ticket and skipping the popcorn. I feel cool picking a seat on my own and enjoying my world alone.

I disagree on one point, though, watching someone you love eat is romantic to me 😛.

HAHAHA!!

Well, maybe not. Star Trek nerds and all that. You'll probably get picked up by those 4 nerds from the AllTel commercials. 😛

Not necessarily hoping to pick up/be picked up.

But I wouldn't be all close-minded to it either.

Skipping the popcorn?

No way!

The popcorn is an integral part of going out to see a movie for me.
