Originally posted by saintnickI hate to say it but the only extra skill involved in this approach is knowing all the quick movers personally. I don't know if either approach is any better than the other but the real trick lies in trying to keep a good rating while running the MAP.
Zoe, I noticed that when you were on top you only had 30-40 games going. I have to admit that takes much more skill and you must have had to choose your opponents wisely.
So, now we have two proven MAP techniques:
The Cat: as many games as possible, move once in each game every time you log in.
The Cow: Selectively only play live players and keep 30-40 ...[text shortened]... top.
I think the Cat requires less effort as you just log in and click as fast as you can....

Opps, I was actually think of Prefect here, but Quirine has done as well in the past....Cat, I'd have to say that you are right. Keeping a high rating and being on the front page of MAP is the most impressive. I am amazed by quirine (sorry if I misspelled that). How does she make that many moves and keep that high of a rating would be a great question!

Originally posted by purclecowWell considering that he made about 13,000 moves a month during Jan, Feb, and Mar he had to take a little break in April. But like he told me once that he is a stay at home dad and his daughter isn't a problem to babysit. He'll break 115,000 by end of June.
i beat him using only 35 games...game number does not make a difference as you can play a few live games a day when he only makes 2 moves on each of his games a day....i am playing him. Play live games with frequent movers only, that is far better.

Originally posted by Cheshire Catoh...so i guess that purclecows big "trick" on how to beat the cat is writing in the forums that she isnt interested in winning the MAP of the month so cheshire cat thinks he will win but than in the end purclecow passes him while the cat is sleeping, not knowing of what just happend.
Yeah, the cow got it last month. 😀

im sorry if im jusst assuming, but i remember the cow writing in the forums that she has exams and that she wont be running for MAP.
Originally posted by Faith No Morei wasnt actually interested, i was telling the truth until i got a few of my clan members telling me not to give up and they would play me till midnight. Unicorn especially would not give up till i won it so in my eyes she shares the MAP title with me. i did my exams on the friday and subsequently did not move on thursday, wednesday and tuesday with anymore than 40 moves. i passed the exams and got most of the day off work on friday and as there was very little gap still left between me and him i thought what-the-hell i'll do it anyway to prove a point. but this month it is too sunny to play chess.
