My hangovers seem to calm down when I don't go to sleep drunk. When you come home drunk, stay up a while and let the booze burn off...then go to sleep. That's been working for me lately.
If you still wake up with a hangover, I recommend a few more beers. Let it get into your system and make you happy again. Once that starts to wear off, allow yourself to fall asleep for a couple of hours. When you wake up, all will be right with the world. As an added bonus, you'll also be two hours closer to cocktail hour.

After all my years of drinking, I still hate that feeling that lingers with me till about noon of the morning after a good drunk. Sometimes its not so bad, other days it feels like I got hit by a truck. You know what I'm talking about, those damn hangovers!!! Coffee in the morning, water before you go sleep, eating while you drink, eating some crackers ...[text shortened]... them really do the trick. Anyone out there have secret remedies for a hangover, what do you do?
I've been known to go out and get ass-faced on occaision, but anymore I restrict my serious drinking to home or parties, since I usually don't have to drive home from those. But since I discovered the secret, I no longer have hangovers, unless I push my blood alcohol really high the night before.
What I do is drink a glass of water (at least 8 oz) after each alcoholic drink. This keeps me sufficiently hydrated so I don't get dehydrated and suffer the hangover the next day. Since I started doing this, I think I've had like one hangover, and that was because I got into a stupid drinking contest with a friend that resulted in both of us passing out until the next day. Probably no amount of water could've saved me from the hangover that followed. 🙂
Try the water thing (and I mean lots of it), and hopefully your hangovers should be less intense, if indeed you get any at all.

haha, no offense mate, but most of the yanks i've been drinking with have been lightweights. i'd suggest a good couple of years of "training" in some countries like the uk, ireland, aussie or nz. that ought to get your liver completely pickled, at which point you find that the "more beer" option the morning after is always the best 🙂
that, and whe ...[text shortened]... on the second mortgage when you discover how expensive it costs to drink after said "training"
Yeah, I know, it's just easier to classify you as a Brit so don't mention it.
After 4 years of engineering school, I worked it out.
The headache you get from drinking is from dehydration - nothing else. Now, I found it bollocks to drink water in between beer, so what I did was to drink as much water as I could before I went to sleep (you can train yourself to do this, even while in a stupor). Not a glass, but lots and lots and lots. If your body is saturated with water before sleep, it is impossible for it to manufacture a dehydration-induced headache.
As for the seedy stomach, anything that neutralises acid will work. Baking soda is the poor man's answer, but it does work.
And if you are game, more beer does actually work. I had to do it once under duress, and after the first glass (which was hard), I was on top of the world. And the next day, there was no hangover at all! Super stuff. I've had many multiple binges since that day.
Wanted to bring this back because I was completely wasted when i went to sleep at 4:00 this morning. I drank an entire gallon of water, not as a hangover remedy, but because I was thirsty and drunk and kind of challenged myself to do it. took the first three gulps and my alcohol absorbed brain thought "I bet I can drink this entire bottle without stopping", and i don't remember if i stopped or not, but the bottle was empty when i regained consciousness about 3 hours ago. And I FELT GREAT! so the oldest and simplest remedy does work, drink as much water as your body can handle before you pass out.
- and for you people who are going to say "Oh, stop drinking and you won't get a hangover", don't waste your time

My head feels like a pig sh@t in it. Unfortunatley I do remember most of what happened too and it is already looking messy. 😞
Oh well, better to have lived and whatever they say... selective amnesia will come in handy over the next few days!
