My youngest sister went out Trick or Treating this year. Most people have something to give her, but she also had a few rejections.
One guy told her politely that she lived in Australia and the not U.S.A (fair enough I thought).
Another said "Huh? Trick or treat??"
One woman told her bluntly that Halloween was about Ghouls and Zombies and was Anti Christian (😕).
And to top it all off one lady said "Here you go kids", dropped a handful of Minties into my sister's friend's bag and then said "And have some cat food" at which point she upended a tin of cat food in there as well, LOL.
While I would have opted with the first method of refusal, the last one, aided by my sister's looks of indignation as she described it, had me crying with laughter.
I don't wish to be a spoilsport, but having kids come to the door begging for lollies in an attempt to replicate something they've seen in American movies really gets my goat.

For halloween, me and the guys next door hit up the bars downtown. In the end it was a great night of stumbling around main street drunk trying to find each other in the chaos. My personal highlight of the evening was when I got up ON the bar and yelled to everyone, "I'm sexy!" and various other random babbles, most of which while not too raunchy would surely get moderated in a heart beat for their connotation.
Orkyboy should be proud. At one point in my "bar sermon" I even yelled "banana power!". Funny, I've never been kicked out of a bar before (probably because I don't go very often). 😀
